Yes, John, I remember those cars. Our neighbors bought a new Packard
in 1948 that was so quiet we couldn't hear it running, just the sound of tires on our graveled street. Another young neighbor shocked and delighted us when he bought a new Rocket 88, I think in 1949. Many women did not drive cars, including my mother, because that was "man's work." Things have changed!
