Yes that's right Ray...
I believe they were together with the K&R stuff and also Abingdon. I don't know the circumstances of the partnership. I used to chat with John and Steven Roff at Modelex and they were always very friendly and happy to help with my requests for additional bits and pieces for my model making efforts. Steven still runs K&R alongside the family plant nursery business and sells on Ebay. I had several phone chats with Max when I was making MG models for Richard Briggs at Minimarque. Max had supplied the castings to Richard and they then appeared as Minimarques. Unfortunately Richard died after I'd only made a few and the enterprise came to nothing.
As for all the other models in the K&R range I don't think they were anything to do with Max.
The whole 'White Metal Family' was great to be a part of in those days when everyone helped one another with the occasional bickering as always happens in families. As perfect as the new generation of resin models is, those great times belonged to a past era and I doubt they'll be repeated.
