Those are beautiful models, Raymond.
I rode in a number of Checker Cabs and remember them as roomy, comfortable and sturdy taxis. One I remember in particular was a six or maybe even eight door suburban model with open wheel arches in the rear. You are right about the Crown Vics being cramped and uncomfortable. I like the models simply because they remind me of some good times in New York City where the trips in a taxi from the hotel to the restaurant or events was usually a short ride.
