No, I disagree. A model builder should offer
a variety of colors and options if they want. This may include colors which the so-called experts may claim are "not-authentic". There is no real way to prove 100 % without any doubt as to what a car may or may not have been painted at the time. In any case, judgement of even "correct" colors is largely subjective and hard to quantify in reality.

I also think supposedly "non-standard" colors or cars that were dealer painted are valid subjects, as are "what-if" ones.

Widely acknowledged "factory-correct" colors I think should definitely be offered as a part of a replica's production run, as these will be perhaps the most popular choices.

I will buy what I like and I resent someone, ANYONE, insisting that only cars meeting their personal dictates should be produced for sale.
