That’s fascinating stuff, Rich. Having lived in Westborough for six years
your information stirs a number of memories. I was serving as rector of St Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Westborough and one day called on a member of the parish who said, “David, you like little cars,” as he handed me a brochure from MTI that had come in the mail. He told me where they were located but that they were mail order only he thought. Well, I went and found the place and knocked on the door. Bob came to the door and said he was mail order only and would I like a brochure? I looked over his shoulder and could see shelves and shelves of models boxed. Somehow, he allowed me in and that started it all. I was like a kid in a candy store.

Bob was a nice guy. I would love to get in touch with him again. Does anybody know how he could be reached? We.moved from Westborough in 1978 and we both have aged a bit but he might remember the young clergyman in a black suit and white collar who collected model cars. As I mentioned in a post below, I tried to help a bit on his VW project which I believe never came to be.

Small world indeed!
