MTI and Minimarque
Raymond,

Yes we made the finished models. We did not make all the 36 Ford cars and panel vans for Mr. Briggs. I'm sure most were made in England. I think we were building the 58 Chevys when Bob and Richard had a disagreement and am not sure if they were sent back to Minimarque or if we just sold them. The Pioneer Models Avantis were never sent back. I believe MTI only sold a small number of them that we had finished. I still have most of the parts as Bob gave them to my late brother some years after closing the business.

I suspect if we had opened the facility in England that we would have made many more models for Minimarque and Pioneer Models.

I have many different Nostalgic Miniatures Coke trucks besides the vans you mention. Bob had me do a lot of 1 off Coke models for him and I have bought a number of them from him in recent years.

If your Avanti says Minimarque on the bottom we did not make it. All the ones we made say Pioneer Models.

If I can figure a way to post photos I will at some point. I have 5 or 6 Oakland models as well as a bunch of Auto Buffs, Collector's Classics samples including two 55 Chevy race cars that were never produced, and many other unusual models.
Rich
