I use clear 2 part casting resin using the same method John Roberts described. You have to be careful because some things, like clear epoxy, will discolor over time just like the original lenses did. The casting resin seems to stay clear.

The hardest part on some of those Western models was removing the old lenses. Some popped out fairly easily and on some I've had to remove the chrome bezel from the model and soak it in lacquer thinner.

I find that a toothpick or even a common pin gives you great control in applying the right amount of resin to the bezel. If you mess up it's easy to do it over.

Hope this helps. I'd be happy to do it for free but postage is the issue these days.
