Chevy in '54 had three series- the Bel Air (with its colored stripe on the rear quarters), the mid-line 210, and the base 150 (the stripped version). All were built on the same chassis and body.

But then I found this:
The absence of the stripe says this is not the Bel Air, but the wood siding is present, and the wheel covers just don't look Chevy to me.


This one was listed as "Non-standard." No Bel Air stripe but it also has wood siding.
Here's the line-up:

I have a hunch the wood siding (which was probably not "wood") was available and so lower series were sometimes modified by owners.

Your modified wagon really looks good! Thanks for posting it.
