I just learned about John's condition from Harvey on the Brooklin Collector Club Facebook page.
Here are the thoughts that I shared with the Club. I am shocked and so very sorry to hear that John is so ill. He did some of the best work on models that I've ever seen. I have quite a few in my collection and I cherish every one of them. I first met John through Bob Hooper of Dominion Models and over the years had some great conversations about cars of all types with John. He really enjoyed the hobby and even though he did great paint and trim work on our 1:43s, his real love was the promo models. The last time that I spoke with John was at the Macungie Toy Show in Pennsylvania last August. We had some good laughs and we talked about a few more cars that I wanted him to enhance for me but he told me at that time that he was having trouble getting the right paint and primer. Being a perfectionist, he didn't want to do a less than perfect job on some of the cars that I wanted him to work on. I am so sorry that I didn't check back with him during the winter but we all know how time gets away from us. But, if I've learned anything from this, you should always make time to keep in touch with the people who are important to you.
