Interesting because this model has Brooklands 'fishtail' exhausts...
Normally Babs had exhaust stubs only, I guess because Pendine Sands didn't have noise restrictions like Brooklands where people who bought houses nearby after the track was built objected to the sound of racing cars...obviously no homework done pre sales! I'd like to know who made this one too. It looks scratch-built to me...and very well done. The bonnet is squarer than other models and I think it's a model of the Leyland-Thomas which preceded Babs and which has never been modelled to my knowledge. This would explain the exhausts. My effort is here - not as good but it looks OK from a distance, and unfinished in these photos. The real Babs is pictured at Pendine Museum down the road from me, and at Goodwood Revival.
