David - some corrections.
The model we are discussing is the 1935 Type B Rekordwagen. Bernd Rosemeyer died in January 1938 while driving a Type C streamliner on the Frankfurt-Darmstadt autobahn. His car was also done by Minichamps:

Auto Union was a great competitor to Mercedes-Benz in Grand Prix races as well as record attempts in the years leading up to WW2. Here's all my Auto Union racing cars from that period, all by Minichamps.
