In 1956 I was in the back seat of a 4 door Chevy. We were sideways in the
highway and were hit by an incoming sedan. of the four in our car, the two of us in the back seat survived. The other car had only the driver, who was killed instantly. I spent most of the summer in the hospital recovering, but a year later had no lasting problems. I have never had to be talked into safety equipment since then.
