The Lincoln was the last of a beautiful styling trend dating from the later 1930's,
and I like it. The Cadillac, with its pseudo-rear finder bulge and tail fin stop lights, was the beginning of GM's dominance of American styling in the 50's and later. However, the Cadillac also had GM's new V8 that became a trend-setter, while Lincoln, even in this top of the line Continental, still had the old flat head V12. As I tend to look to the past, I will go with the Lincoln Continental.

The '48 Cadillac still had the flat head V8. The OHV-V8 wasn't introduced until 1949. (EOM) by John Bono #39641.2.1
CADILLAC. I didn't have to think much on this one. The Lincoln looks like a late 30's car in by George Schire #39641.3

Cadillac! Sleek styling. Nice chrome. Love the fins. Lincoln looks grotesque. (EOM) by Tim Kubiak #39641.11
Prefer the Cadillac. For me the first Continental was beautiful.. by John Roberts #39641.12
The Caddy for sure. I didn't care for what they did to the front end of the Continental after 1940 (EOM) by Michael Rodriguez #39641.13
Caddy please. I generally don't care for luxury cars, never paid attention to the 48 Caddy before. (EOM) by Bruce Parsons #39641.14
I have never been a big fan of either one but these are both beautiful. (EOM) by Dick Johnson #39641.15
The Caddy has gracefull body lines. The Lincoln looks like it was cobbled together from to many by Gary Rockwood #39641.16
Caddy looks newer (EOM) by Ron Dietrich #39641.17
Great styling from both the late ’30s and late ‘40s. Caddy gets the vote for its better engine. (EOM) by John Bono #39641.18
