Caribbean colours. I've been restoring a Minimarque recently...
which I picked up for a song on Ebay ages ago. As far as I could see the Caribbean for '53 was only available in a few colours - ivory, black, light blue, green. Red isn't listed and certainly not coral that I've seen other Minimarques in. Can anyone enlighten me please? I've provisionally gone for ivory, the model originally being bright red. When finished this will go with my little collection of 1953/4 Packards. Finished or in progress: 54 Patrician, 54 Caribbean, 53 Caribbean, 53 Cavalier, 53 convertible, 54 Super Station Wagon. All are Brooklin-based, apart from the aforesaid Minimarque. I aim to complete them all in around 25 years.

PICs: Which Packard? '53 or '55 by John Bono #40696
'55. Though not visible in the pic I love the "cathedral" taillights. (EOM) by Barry Levittan #40696.1
'53. (EOM) by Brian Cox #40696.2
'53 is better of the 2; but not a fan of the Connie. (EOM) by Jack Dodds #40696.3
+ 1 ... I agree 100% (EOM) by Dennis Mong #40696.3.1
In different ways, both are really great. I just can't make a choice. (EOM) by David Holcombe #40696.4
'53 just seems a llittle more classic to me. (EOM) by Duncan Pohl #40696.5
These two pix show the '53 as a pretty snazzy car. Continuing on with by Bruce Gibbins #40696.6
Caribbean colours. I've been restoring a Minimarque recently... by John Roberts #40696.6.1
The 55 for me. But would love the 53 in 1:24 scale (without the Butt Wart). (EOM) by George Schire #40696.7
Love both but '53 just pips it. Thought the Continental kit was stock? (EOM) by John Roberts #40696.8
Yes, Connie kit was stock. (EOM) by John Bono #40696.8.1
The '53 is gorgeous, but the Connie Kit ruins it, so today it's the '55... (EOM) by Terence Slekar #40696.9
'53 please. I'm a sucker for those open rear wheel arches. (EOM) by Michael Rodriguez #40696.10
1953 for me. The three things I love about the 53 are the continental by Bob Jackman #40696.10.1
+1 big time. Pure class. (EOM) by Frank Kocour #40696.10.1.1
1953. Great color. The right amount of chrome. Classic grill. (EOM) by Tim Kubiak #40696.11
1955 looks miles better to me. (EOM) by Ed Glorius #40696.12
1953. (EOM) by Sal Lomma #40696.13
Both are gorgeous, but the more classic '53 gets my pick. (EOM) by John Bono #40696.14
