Pic. Here, Bruce, is a pic of my fathers 1950 Austin A40 Devon. The car was in my grandfathers
ownership from new, but apparently he hated the little car and found it difficult to transition into the Austin from his '28 Buick Sedan - I don't actually remember the car being a small child at the time.
In frustration Grandfather gave the Austin to his son - my father, who gave it a reconditioned motor and whatever else it needed so we set of into the future as our first family car.

But the car was seriously under powered and because we often made trips away over hilly terrain, the Austin started to be come unreliable, so my father bought a 1946/47 Ford Club Coupe and a few years driving that around............
