Ha! This version was known as Le Weekend...
look closely and you'll see the car has a tailgate. The doors have been removed for the photo - they slide up and off via a rolled steel hinge arrangement. The back seat folds flat. The main problem is not what you do with the doors, it's what you do with the front seats. Perhaps they would fit in a tent. On the other hand if you had to take a tent you may as well sleep in that! Wonderful French logic there somewhere
