Don, I'm old alright but not quite that old. A museum which, recently
closed, had an example of this motor on display. It displaced 288 cubic inches and looked very modern.

Not true. Chevrolet built an overhead valve V8 in 1916 and 1917.. (EOM) by Bob Jackman #42307.1.1
