PICs: D Day and the invasion of Normandy
With profound thanks to all those who served so well to protect our freedom.

I think this photo says it all. The Allies' objective at Omaha Beach was to cross the beach and take those positions at the top of those cliffs, all the while under fire. Scenes like this were duplicated all along the beaches and cliffs at Normandy. The invasion required the largest armada ever assembled. It was an incredible, cooperative effort and it was successful.
