There were of course other hit lists that featured........
Jazz, Blues/Gospel, Hillbilly/Country, regional genres from the South that in a few short years supplanted Popular Music listed here in 1951 - Rock n Roll that would change the world forever.
Not that Popular Music died off, of course not, this continued alongside the new sounds from The South and continued to dominate hit lists as it still does today. But inspite of Popular music being included as being Rock and Roll, its roots lay in the North.
