A member of our board at church played in a regionally famous bluegrass band. I'm going to share it with him.

His father passed away three years ago. He asked if the band, which was originally started by his father and three friends then handed down to their sons, might be able to play and the funeral. I thought it was a grand idea. They brought their instruments to the funeral home and played an original composition, "Johnny Got Drunk." People were celebrating this man and his legacy by clapping their hands and dancing in the aisles. They demanded an encore! The band played and improvised for a half-hour! It might have been the greatest funeral I've ever officiated and I've had the great honor of doing several full-honors ceremonies down at Arlington Cemetary!
