PIC: A Citroen 2 CV in hard corner and suspension explained,



The suspension was both very sophisticated and very simple - low number of parts (exactly the same front and back) and the side coil springs pre-load to go better over bumps. Later years had friction shock absorbers at the arm pivot points. No torsion bars, No sway bars, no hydraulics. This kept the overall cost low and the functionality high. (Note: the pre-war prototypes did have a torsion bar suspension.)
