In 1968 (and I'm unsure what other years too) for less than 100.00
you could order some special colors that were not on the 15 color chart most salesmen had. Now you had a six week wait for your car so you had to be patient. In 1970 in Orlando Florida a Chevy dealer ordered a slew of pink (yes, pink) cars and they were several different body styles. He had planned a special promotion and GM gave him a deal on the price.
