Z cars
A friend bought the Z when it came out, had it for many years with high mileage and sold it for MORE than he paid for it. This design caught the public attention. As a side note..the MOST underrated Japanese sport that sold in the beginning for about $30,000 car is the Honda Acura NSX. A CLAssic !!
