Before you get to Philly, take the Delaware Bridge to the NJ Turnpike and follow until NYC area.
Parking in the city can be very expensive, $40-50 a day or more unless your hotel has a deal on parking. Then it will be more like $20 or $30. If you can find affordable parking outside the city and Uber or Lyft in, getting around New York is fairly easy and inexpensive if you use the subways.
