I get the point of the song
It made me incredibly sad at first. But once I thought about it, I realized--I don't want to be eighteen again!

Let me explain.

I'm reasonably certain my memories and reminiscings are much better than those times really were. If I want to be honest with myself, yes, those times were adventurous. But they were also awkward, doubtful, frequently confusing and, even more regularly, lacking anything resembling wisdom and common sense. Can anyone relate?

We've all had rich lives. We've lived and learned. I'd much rather spend the time I have left enjoying myself and sharing with those younger than me the things I've learned through the trials and joys of being alive for the last sixty-eight years. I don't want to go through it all again
