That's not the worst!
IN 1971, I had a new girlfriend and wanted a cool car to drive her around in. I had a friend that converted an old postal truck into a mini motor home. I liked and went to a post office auction and bought a 67 Ambassador, right-hand drive, no passenger seat or back seat. I spray painted it by hand, it didn't look too bad! Then I put in a tape player (8 track of course), laid down shag carpeting, covered the driver's seat with new brocade fabric and threw pillows and a bean bag chair in the back. Onn the side, next to the driver's seat, I had blankets and pillows. Finally, I dark-tinted the windows, put on a set of decent wheels and added some whitewalls. I even had a lava lamp on the back package shelf. I know it sounds awful, but it actually looked pretty nice. My guys thought it was really cool and began looking for the next auction. All was well until I went to pick up my new date. Her dad saw me pull up and came out to look at the car. He was oohing and ahhing, telling me he always wanted to "buy one of these things and fix it up." All was going great, that is at least until he looked inside. He looked me in the eye and said, "She's not going anywhere in that thing!"
