In the early days of coronavirus, before it became covid-19, information was coming
out in the honest media, that the annual, almost routine, death rate from regular flu was around the number you quote, Steve.
Clearly, this was published to ease peoples minds so as not to bring on panic among the citizenry and quite rightly so too.
Of course, the politizising of what is now a pandemic came from the usual suspects which was about as unhelpful as you can get, but no surprises there.
But now reasonable people of the international community went about designing strategies to protect their own citizens and hunker down to ride this thing out until we get to the other side of this when the sun will shine again.
