Our experience here is that seniors contribute far less to road accidents than tourists
from LHD countries used to driving on the right side of the road. But still far fewer than adolescent morons using public roads for thrill seeker experiences. Driver impatience and intoxication are also contributors to a high number of collissions as is a large number of narrow winding roads where cars coming from opposite directions pass at 100kph only inches away from each other.

A rush by the government lately to continue constructing town skirting expressways should reduced crashes and road deaths considerably, but only from roads where topography is a primary cause and where collisions involving cars and heavy truck and trailer rigs have occured. Most of these heavy trucks though must choose to travel at night when road traffic is light.
