I was pretty sure I'd never seen that combination before, so I checked
the available two-tones for '55. Nautilus Blue would have been paired with Castle Gray, which was essentially white. White Mist, a beige color, was only available paired with Turquoise Blue or Firegold, both iconic combinations and very familiar to Pontiac fans.My guess is that the car was specially painted in beige to lower the reflectivity of Castle Gray, the normal two-tone color for Nautilus Blue, for photographic reasons.The Sun Star model is probably a correct reproduction of the car, but that paint job isn't factory-correct, and for good reason IMO. It just doesn't look that great.
