I thought this was common knowledge. The '61 Lincoln started as a T-bird. When FoMoCo top brass...
...saw this they said, "Oh no boys, that's a Lincoln." The beautiful 1961 "slab-sides" were created and the rest is history. Those Lincoln "razor edges" influenced designs by Chrysler (Imperial) and GM (Cadillac) for many years.

And it all started with a little bird.
